Our Story

The House of Laila

Every love has a story. Every story deserves a home.

Once upon a time, there was a love so extraordinary that it became poetry.

It was the love of Laila and Majnoon — a tale carried across centuries, whispered through verses, and remembered by hearts that believe some feelings are simply too profound for ordinary words.

Their story was one of love, longing, devotion, and the beautiful ache of feeling something deeply.

And somewhere in that timeless tale, the idea for De Laila Kor was born.

De Laila Kor means The House of Laila.

But this is not a house of walls and windows.

It is a house made of stories.

Of pages softened by time, of characters who feel like old friends, of handwritten notes tucked between chapters, and of words that find us when we need them most.

We believe every reader is a little like Majnoon — searching for something that speaks to the deepest part of their soul.

For some, it is a love story. For others, it is adventure, courage, knowledge, a forgotten dream, or the comfort of knowing they are not alone.

Whatever it may be, we believe there is a book waiting to meet you.

A poetry journal with a fountain pen and dried roses

At De Laila Kor, we celebrate the beautiful relationship between a reader and a story. The late nights spent beneath a reading lamp. The sentences underlined because they felt like our own thoughts. The final pages we turn slowly because we are not quite ready to say goodbye.

We are here for all of it.

For the dreamers, the thinkers, the lovers of language, and those who find a little piece of themselves in every book they read.

Love made Laila a legend. Stories keep legends alive.
From the House of Laila

If Laila and Majnoon remind us that love can become a timeless story, De Laila Kor is our invitation to fall in love with stories themselves.

So come in, dear reader.

There is always room for one more story in the House of Laila.

With love and a thousand untold stories,

De Laila Kor

A note from our founder

Dear reader,

There is something beautiful about the way a story can travel across centuries and still find a place in someone's heart.

That is what I have always loved about the tale of Laila and Majnoon. Not simply the romance, but the idea that some stories become part of us and stay with us long after they are told.

I wanted to create a place that honours that feeling.

A little house where books are loved, where stories are cherished, and where every reader feels welcome.

That is how De Laila Kor began.

My hope is that you find more than a book here.

I hope you find a sentence that understands you, a character you remember, or a story that becomes part of your own.

Thank you for being here and for helping fill this little house with stories.

With love,

The Founder of De Laila Kor
